CANTERBURY HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION
Meeting Minutes, August 10th 2020 (conference call during the pandemic)
https://canterburycondos.com/
Board members participating: Brittiny Clinton , Brant Dever, Chuck Eaglin , Rick Grey, Jessica Jordan, Kathleen Martin, and Amy Wenck. Chad Ertel from Kirkpatrick Management and our attorney Stephen Donham participated.
Jessica opened the meeting at 7:09pm and welcomed and thanked everyone for participating.
QUESTIONS AND DISCUSSION
- Concern that there was not enough notice and communication that this meeting was going to be by conference call instead of in person
- Concern that the wording of the rental cap amendment is ambiguous and unclear in places
- Questions and concerns about renting to family members and the “grandfathering”/continuation process for owners that are currently renting out their units
- Request by a newer owner for a summary about the rental cap amendment. Jessica gave a summary about it and how it will work. Our attorney Stephen said that standard language and wording was used in the writing of the rental cap amendment. If this amendment does not pass there could be discussion and possible updates made for a new rental cap amendment proposal
STATUS AND UPCOMING STEPS
- Unfortunately not enough owners participated at this time to complete the voting
- We are able (and the board approved) to hold the meeting open for 180 days. This allows additional owners to participate by submitting a proxy vote. Current votes remain in place unless an owner decides to update their vote with a replacement proxy vote.
- If this rental cap amendment passes then a copy of it will be mailed to all owners. Owners that are currently renting will have 30 days to submit copies of their current rental agreements with their renters.
MEETING ADJUOURNED
Next meeting: September monthly meeting on Monday 9/14/20 at 6:30pm by conference call.
Respectfully submitted,
Brant Dever, Secretary
